The next regular meeting of the Appellate Law Section will be Thursday, September 16, 2010, at noon at the Belo Mansion: Mike Northrup will be presenting "Raiders of the Lost Articles (of the Texas Constitution)"

On September 30th at noon at the Belo Mansion, the Dallas Bar Association's Legal History Discussion Group will be hosting (and the DBA Appellate Section will be co-hosting) Professor David Oshinsky, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Professor of History at UT Austin, who will speak about the topic of his just-published book, Capital Punishment on Trial: Furman v. Georgia and the Death Penalty in Modern America.

On October 6th, the DBA Judiciary Committee will host a Forum for Candidates for the Dallas Court of Appeals.  The event will be at the Belo at noon.

On October 21st beginning at noon, the DBA Appellate Section will be presenting its inaugural "Appellate Law October Fest" to include 5 hours of CLE programming (including 1 hour ethics) and a reception with members of the appellate bench and bar.

This section meets at noon on the 3rd Thursday of every month. No meetings are scheduled for July and August.
